“Miner” by Photographer Lindsey Kennedy

Lindsey Kennedy is a photographer based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She uses color and instant film in her ongoing series, “Miner,” to explore the concept of intimacy—the ways in which it is avoided or embraced, and the role it plays as an emotional currency. Rich in texture and iridescent pastel color, the intimate still lifes she photographs are in many ways a reflection of the current times. Within the context of a global pandemic, Kennedy notes how her experiences of intimacy have shifted without proximity to others: “Watching my relationships change and seeking connection outside of human contact has led me to examine the functions and artifacts of intimacy more deeply.”
